Trekkies

The whole family bonded over the documentary, Trekkies (1997), last night. My teenage kids thought it was a total blast. We all smiled and laughed at the people and their dedication to the show(s) and concepts. These people are very serious.

I don’t know if I’m a Trekie (apparently there’s a difference, but it’s not clear what the definition of each is), having seen every episode of the original several times and each of the “The Next Generation” episodes at least once over the years. Even so, though, I have no urge to dress like a Klingon and listen to William Shatner tell stories about what it was like to shoot a phaser in 1966. My kids are thankful for this.

It’s only 86 minutes long and it’s a real hoot.
