Your wife's pix are terrific! Very nice stuff. I'm afraid that I only have some junk pictures in my gallery right now - some shots from my compact camera (see http://www.herman.org/Galleries/2-Speed/index.html or http://www.herman.org/Galleries/BnRHolland/Will%20and%20Sandra's%20Pix/index.html).

One of my goals this summer is to get some of my better shots in a gallery for display.

If your wife is seriously working on her photography, the 5D is certainly a great tool. Keep in mind, though, that the 5D will not accept EF-S lenses, which are the lenses used by the Digital Rebel, I believe. The EF-S lenses are made especially for the smaller sensor in the Rebel and other D-SLRs and will not work with a full-frame sensor.

I hope that makes sense . . .

Hi Will,

I came to your blog after Brad Feld recommended your post on when to get rid of the "best" people working for you, which was excellent by the way. This post on the 5D was a complete surprise and I wanted to let you know I appreciated it.

My wife's the photographer in our family and she's currently shooting with a two year old Digital Rebel. After reading your thoughts, I might have to add the 5D to her gift list (to be acquired when the piggy bank allows).
