I really had great hopes for the book, but in the end, I just couldn’t even finish it. The first third of the book is dedicated to describing the book itself. Interesting for five or ten pages, boring after the first twenty and mind-numbing after the first 100. The stuff actually written by Twain is not like the popular and memorable Twain material that we all know and love. Some of it isn’t thought through and the order that the editors put everything in is confusing.

I’ll pick it up now and again and poke in to find if there’s something worthwhile. Or maybe not . . .
